Comm-Cuts #2
New, little known music, just right for your commute.
The first cut is from the late Eric Carroll. At Da Doc shows Mr. Carroll at his Bowie best. Or is it Talking Heads? Or is it Chris Isaak? At any rate, it is unique.
Eric Carroll played Southern California. This second cut is from a Washington, DC band, The Dullards. This song, Willard’s, is some fine roots rock.
The final song in this Comm-Cuts selection is One More Tonight by some Nashville guy. It won the Gold Ribbon from Paramount Music.

Pat Jesten

Yellow Flower by Pat Jesten
Pat Jesten has been interested in photography since she was a little girl. Her grandfather owned a photography studio in Grenada. After smelling all of the chemicals in her Grandfather's studio, she was "captured." She has been taking photographs ever since.
Pat offers a peek at her collection of photographs from people and animals to nature and outdoors. Her art work highlights her dedication to the subject and her attention to detail. Her fealty to color, as emphasized in her gallery of flowers, was a driving force to feature Pat Jesten on Neighborhood Talent.

The Dullards Are Out There - People Should Listen!
Posted on Fri, 11 Sep 2009 20:21:00 +0000
The Dullards, a Washington, DC-area band, would appeal to roots music fans, and also to the demographic that goes for country, folk, and folk-rock styles. There are hints of Stray Cats, Little Feat, the Eagles, and maybe a touch of Tom Petty. It would be a perfectly natural fit to click on Austin City Limits and see them playing.Guitarist-songwriters Alistair Millar and Guy Benson have woven ...

Dead in Mt. Isa: Exactly the type of audio article I could use on my commute
Posted on Sun, 20 Apr 2008 21:18:00 +0000
This audio article is just what I could use for my commute to school. It is the right length and the style makes it easy to listen to. The storyline is definitely off-the-beaten-path. A guy wandering through the Outback has to deal with a death and the questions that go with it: his relationship to the deceased (nearly a stranger), his responsibility to the deceased (his host at the time), and ...
