Process & Terms for Submission

Neighborhood Talent highlights yet undiscovered artists — musicians, photographers, visual artists, writers & more — at the local level. We are looking for serious artists with a need or want for a new forum for displaying their art to a wider audiance. The artist's work is presented at NO expense to the artist.

Neighborhood Talent and our posting agent, Johnson Ventures of Virginia, LLC (JV-VA) claim no rights to or to future use of any artist material. ALL rights are maintained by the artist.

At the same time, Neighborhood Talent and JV-VA are not responsible for any opinions expressed by the submitting artist, for any copyright or trademark infringement related to submitted material, or for any legal or ethical conflicts resulting from the submitted material.

Artist material must be submitted for review. Neighborhood Talent may refuse to post or discontinue posting artist material at any time due to inappropriate, objectionable, illegal or obscene material and/or language or any other presentation that may be considered offensive. Neighborhood Talent reserves the right to reject any request to link to an artist web site for the same reasons. These decisions are at the sole discretion of Neighborhood Talent.

Please note: Some material posted on this web site may be considered by some viewers are objectionable or even offensive. Neighborhood Talent, with the assistance of the artist, will attempt to notify or warn viewers prior to viewing this material.

Below are the steps for submission to Neighborhood Talent

• Please review the conditions detailed in the artist contact. A signed contract is required prior to posting artist material on this web site. Our site supports Adobe Acrobat (Click Here!), Microsoft Word (Click Here!) or Rich Text Format (Click Here!).
• Contact Neighborhood Talent. (Click Here!) Please include the following information:
  • Your name
  • Artist name (if you write under a pseudonym, if you are a member of a band, etc.)
  • Contact information (email and phone number)
  • Brief description of the artist and the work for submission
  • Example of the artist work, if available (.jpeg, .wma, .doc, etc.)
• Neighborhood Talent will review your material. Please allow 1-2 weeks for this review.
• Neighborhood Talent will let you know if we are interested in posting the artist material. Further instructions will be included.

For those artists with little or no means to sell their art — books, CDs, prints, etc. — we offer Neighborhood Talent — Shop. A link to the home page for this shopping site is provided in the top and bottom navigation bars of Neighborhood Talent. Also, there are links from the individual artist page directly to the item page. Neighborhood Talent — Shop is a Yahoo! store and a member of Johnson Ventures of Virginia. Please note: As with Neighborhood Talent, revenues for the posting agent, Johnson Ventures of Virginia (JV-VA), are driven by advertising. However, 10% of the cost (excluding shipping and tax) of each items sold through Neighborhood Talent — Shop is kept by JV-VA to maintain the web site and to provide order processing. ALL other funds are passed directly to the artist.
